Over the last 10 years, Michael has held positions in marketing, sales, public relations and government affairs working for non-profits, technology companies and consulting companies with both public and private sector clients, as well as holding fort in the rapid political world on Capitol Hill for a US Congressman in his earlier professional life.

Currently he is involved in utilizing social media and traditional marketing for several divisions within BIA Advisory Services, including The Kelsey Group, ActiveAccess and SpectraRep. Michael's work at BIA includes using social networking for marketing and lead generation, developing new product branding, building websites and blogs, and other marketing roles.

Michael also consults from time to time, and provides business and marketing strategies to companies in the US and in Latin America.

Over the years, Michael has successfully produced and managed marketing campaigns for the world's leading technology companies, developed public relations and government affairs strategies for the nation's leading retail corporations, and successfully grown the online presence and brand recognition of different companies.

Michael also has experience in working with Latin American businesses, is a certified radio and television producer, blogger, web designer and host of his own radio program, The Mike Hackmer Show, which covers topics in traditional and social media and airs every Sunday at noon on WEBR.

In 2005, Michael married Maria Gomez, who is a corporate lawyer from Bogota, Colombia. Michael, Maria and Michael's daughter, Chrissy, all live in Ashburn, VA. Michael graduated from The Catholic University of America with a Bachelors in Politics and a minor in Latin American History, and has certifications for Webmaster and Cold Fusion, as well as Radio and Television production, and currently is an audio crew member for Meena Gupta's "Classics & Traditions with Meena G", a show that highlights other cultures.

Michael's goals for the future include learning more about Social Media, networking and technology - especially in how they are changing the way we communicate with one another, process information, and make purchasing decisions. In addition to his desire to expand BIA's various lines of business, Michael would like to continue to expand his network in the Americas, write and publish poetry and fiction works he has been developing, travel to other parts of the world, and last but certainly not least, provide an excellent life for his daughter and family.
