| Our First Morning, Part Two |

Crawling in

and out

you give birth to a new day of smiles

and love.

I suffered through so many beginnings
they became commonplace

until our first morning together.

On this day you taught me not just a new beginning

but a new way to live life.

I know that when people look at me now

they don't look at me in the old way

or see the relics of being torn asunder.

We come together now

and carry with each new morning

the chance to make our dreams real.

And with bodies pressed together

arms wrapped

we entwine more than ourselves

and live more than two separate dreams

we unleash one dream

made from the two of us.
